A hallmark of spring is home tours, which bloom like flowers throughout Dallas. Doors soon will be opened to privately owned homes around the city. Area tours offer a rare chance to see inside distinctive residences in Dallas' older neighborhoods. Houses large and small span architectural styles from Colonial and Greek Revival to midcentury modern and urban contemporary.
White Rock Home Tour
This year's White Rock Home tour highlights six midcentury and new-build modern homes in East Dallas. High ceilings, walls of glass and distinctive art define each residence. Tourgoers will experience high-tech systems and energy-efficient features. Hungry visitors can grab a tasty meal at the Hexter Café in Victor H. Hexter Elementary School.
Noon to 5 p.m. April 22 and April 23. $15 in advance, $20 at the door of each home and at Hexter Elementary School. Tickets for sale at whiterockhometour.org.
